This page explains how CalculatorAnything's calculators and explanations are created, checked and corrected, so you can judge how much to rely on them.

Who maintains the site

CalculatorAnything is written and maintained by Faheem Ali, the site's founder. He writes the calculators and explanations and reviews the finance and health pages; each of those pages shows his name and the date it was last reviewed. We are not a bank, lender, tax adviser or medical provider, and we don't sell financial or health products.

How calculators are built

Each calculator implements a published, widely used method — for example the standard amortization formula for loans, the Mifflin-St Jeor equation for energy needs, or WHO and CDC thresholds for adult BMI. The formula is shown on the page in plain text, and health and finance pages list their sources by name.

How calculators are tested

Each calculation engine is tested against reference values computed independently of the site's code — for example loan payments from the annuity formula, ISO week numbers from a standard date library, and body-fat estimates from the published U.S. Navy equations. The October 2026 run covered 80 checks across all eight categories and passed in six time zones (UTC, New York, Los Angeles, London, Dubai and Auckland), so date results do not change with the visitor's location.

Every worked example on the finance and health pages (29 in total) was recomputed and matches the calculator's own output to the cent or the decimal shown. Inputs are checked against realistic ranges before anything is calculated, and an impossible combination produces a plain-language message instead of a misleading number.

The checks are re-run whenever a formula or input changes. Known conventions are stated on the page where they matter — for example, a 29 February birthday is treated as reached on 28 February in non-leap years, and the business-days count excludes weekends plus any holidays you list.

Health and finance content

Health and finance results are estimates for general information. Pages on these topics show the method, named sources, assumptions and limitations, and a "Last reviewed" date that changes only when the page is actually reviewed. They are not a substitute for advice from a qualified professional.

Corrections

If you find an error, email hello@calculatoranything.com or use the contact page with the calculator name, the values you entered, the result you saw and what you expected. We aim to review reports within a few working days, correct confirmed errors promptly, and update the page's review date when we do.

Independence and advertising

The site is funded by advertising. Advertisers have no influence over formulas, results or explanations, and ads are kept visually separate from calculator results.
