Shipping estimates, project deadlines, and contract terms are often measured in business days, not calendar days — this calculator counts exactly how many weekdays fall between two dates, automatically excluding Saturdays and Sundays.
How It Works
The calculator steps through every calendar day between the two dates you provide and counts only those that fall on Monday through Friday, skipping Saturday and Sunday entirely.
Business Days = count of days between Start Date and End Date where the day of week is Monday–Friday.
Example
Scenario: Counting weekdays across a span that includes two full weekends.
Result: The total business days, with both weekend days in each week excluded from the count.
Assumptions & Limitations
- Excludes only Saturday and Sunday — public holidays are not automatically excluded since holiday calendars vary by country and region.
- Both the start and end date are included in the count if they fall on a weekday.
- For a jurisdiction-specific count that also excludes public holidays, subtract those holiday dates manually from the result.
